Reading Lolita Opera
8.5" x 11"
Reading Lolita in Tehran, and Elisabeth Mehl Greene's opera inspired by it, is about a group of Iranian women who study Western novels while their rights are being curbed by their country's totalitarian and patriarchal authorities. Thus, I chose to display the beauty of the culture with traditional Persian motifs and a calligraphic font, with more masculine, sharp shapes and fonts suppressing its legibility.
Due to the grassroots nature and quick turnaround of the flier, I built it for standard print size in both color and black and white, with imagery and fonts that were free for commercial use.
